Tattoo artists (formally known as Tattoo Technicians) in the State of Connecticut are licensed by the state’s Department of Public Health. One of the licensure requirements since January 1, 2015 is for Tattoo Technicians to provide a current American Heart Association or American Red Cross First Aid certification when they submit their license application.
Since this requirement, Code One has helped many artists obtain the required AHA First Aid certification.
Code One has a few easy options to get your First Aid certification:
- Heartsaver First Aid course – regularly offered on Saturday mornings once per month in our East Hartford, Woodbridge, and Stamford offices. For artists in the quiet corner, you can take the class at our Worcester office as well (it’s the same certificate required for Connecticut). 3 hours, $45 – www.code1web.com/hsfa
- Online Heartsaver First Aid – complete the first aid course online and then come to any of our centers for a skills test appointment. The online portion takes about 2 hours and the skills test is only 30 minutes. $60 – www.code1web.com/hsfa-o
- Host a Course – If you have a group of artists that need First Aid training, we can provide either the First Aid instructor led course or the skills testing appointments for the online course at your studio. Request a quote at www.code1web.com/host
