Northeast Medical Institute is based in Stamford and provides Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA), Phlebotomy Technician, and EKG Technician programs.

The programs at Northeast Medical Institute are designed to provide the students with the necessary skills to be the vital part of any dynamic healthcare team. Each of our faculty members are trained professionals with many years experience in healthcare. At Northeast Medical Institute, we set high standards for our students and expect all our students to excel with the help of our real-life scenarios given by our faculty members. In order for the student to meet and excel in our programs, each student must bring a positive, determined, and enthusiastic attitude every day. Our faculty members are happy to assist with any questions regarding our school’s policies and procedures. The facility is climate controlled depending on the weather.
Certified Nurse’s Aide:
The Nurse’s Aide/Assistant/CNA program prepares students for Connecticut Department of Public Health and Department of Higher Education CNA requirements. CNA, also known as certified nurse’s aide, is an entry-level healthcare job that prepares those interested in becoming a nurse with the experience and exposure to the healthcare field. The CNA program consists of both a classroom section and clinical segment. Each program consists of 102 class hours, which is broken into 42 classroom hours, 27 lab hours and 33 clinical hours. This course provides training in fundamental nursing skills and theory and is designed to meet the Connecticut Department of Public Health requirements while preparing the student for the Pro-Metric State exam. Our Nurse’s Aide course is perfect for those who live in New Haven, CT/ Hamden, CT/ Derby, CT/ and all surrounding cities.
The Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to teach the knowledge in technical and procedural aspects of basic phlebotomy, including the collection of blood specimens and venipuncture required to become a Phlebotomy Technician. The Phlebotomy Technician program includes theory and hands-on instruction. The program will teach students the concepts of Introduction to Phlebotomy & Infection Control, Legal Issues in Healthcare, Introduction to Human Anatomy & Physiology, Phlebotomy Equipment & Supplies, Phlebotomy Procedures, and Phlebotomy Fundamental Essentials. This program is designed for learners who want to advance their career, or interested in starting a career in the medical field to become a phlebotomy technician. This is a comprehensive 80-hour program.
The EKG Technician course consists of 24 hours of classroom (theory) and skills. Each student will learn the basic theoretical component, which is approved by the State Of Connecticut. Students are trained on competency skills and theory, which will prepare them for the Final Exam with the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
This EKG program is the ONLY 3 Day program in all of New Haven County!
