Basic Life Support Provider
The American Heart Association BLS Provider course trains professionals with clinical responsibilities to provide lifesaving interventions to victims of cardiac and respiratory arrest. This course covers CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for adults, children, and infants. This certification is required for most healthcare providers that work in patient care areas and for students enrolled in medical and nursing programs.

Advanced ECG & Pharmacology
The American Heart Association Advanced ECG and Pharmacology course provides healthcare providers with the skills necessary to read and interpret electrocardiograms, recognize lethal arrhythmias, and understand the medications commonly used for advanced life support measures.’
This course meets the pre-hire ECG course requirements for Hartford Hospital nurses.

This self-directed, online course prepares healthcare professionals to evaluate and assess patients with potential symptoms of myocardial infarction, interpret ECGs for signs of STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction) and activate a system of care for rapid reperfusion of an occluded coronary artery.

For healthcare providers needing basic rhythm recognition skills, including those preparing for ACLS. This course teaches basic rhythm understanding, the relationship between the ECG strip and heart impulses, common arrhythmias, and to identify various adult arrhythmias.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support:
The American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support course is designed for healthcare providers who direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient. Through didactic lecture and hands on practice in simulated scenarios, providers will enhance their skills in the treatment of the adult victim of a cardiovascular emergency.
The American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Update course provides healthcare professionals with clinical responsibilities in critical care areas the most recent evidence based resuscitation science for adult cardiac emergencies. This program utilizes assessment surveys and megacode scenarios to practice team resuscitation.
Requires prior ACLS Provider certification in the last 27 months.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support:
Pediatric Advanced Life Support
The American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course trains healthcare providers with clinical responsibilities in pediatric critical care areas on the most recent evidence based resuscitation science for cardiac and respiratory emergencies existing in infants and children. This program utilizes assessment surveys and megacode scenarios to practice team resuscitation. This course is recommended for healthcare providers (including new grads) that plan to work in pediatric critical care patient care areas.
