Bloodborne Pathogens Training

American Heart Association Occupational Training

This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens (BBP) training when paired with site-specific instruction.

This program meets OSHA requirements and can be offered as a stand alone course or can be added to an existing CPR or First Aid training program being offered by Code One.

The American Heart Association’s Bloodborne Pathogens course uses the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and slogan, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act,” to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training.

Students learn how to:

  • Protect themselves from exposure to bloodborne pathogens
  • Act when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace
  • Clean themselves and the area when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace
  • Tell or report any exposure to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace

This program is geared toward staff that may come into contact with bloodborne pathogens in the duties of their job.  The Occupational Safety and Health Administration requires annual BBP compliance training for these workers.

This program meets OSHA requirements and can be offered as a stand alone course or can be added to an existing CPR or First Aid training program being offered by Code One.
