Yes.  We require that the Online Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course be completed before you schedule the Heartsaver Skills Session to ensure that you have the coursework done and are ready for your session.

BEACON is the American Heart Association program with some enhancements.  Learners use instrumented manikins from RQI Partners which provide immediate audio and visual feedback on each skill to allow rescuers to achieve mastery and allowing you to BE A CONfident rescuer.

The BEACON Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Complete Package includes the required Online Heartsaver CPR AED course plus a Hands-On Skills Verification appointment at Code One.  This is the course that most learners require.

BEACON Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Skills Only is ONLY for learners who have already completed the American Heart Association Online Heartsaver CPR AED course and have their certificate dated in the past year.

BOTH the Online Heartsaver and the skills session are needed to satisfy certification even if you are renewing your certificate.

The BEACON Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Complete Package includes theory (Online Heartsaver) and skills verification (Heartsaver Skills).

Here’s the approximate time it takes to complete each one:

  • The online portion of Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course can be completed in approximately 4 hours.
  • On average, the time to complete the hands-on skills session is 30 minutes.  Experienced rescuers may complete the skills in less time.

Online Heartsaver is the American Heart Association’s eLearning option for lay rescuers.  Topics include CPR and use of an AED for adults, children, and infants and first aid for common childhood illnesses and injuries.

Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a learner completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, and a hands-on skills session.  In order to meet Heartsaver certificate requirements, learners are required to complete both the Online Heartsaver course and the hands-on skills session.

The BEACON Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Complete includes the Online Heartsaver course and the individual skills appointment at a Code One Training Center location.

Learners arrive for their scheduled appointment to a Code One Training Center location and check-in using the instructions in their confirmation email.  Our system will confirm your appointment and call you with a door code so you may enter the skills training room.

Your Heartsaver Skills Session includes 3 skills and review:
