What is BEACON PALS?

BEACON Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is an innovative new program for American Heart Association PALS Provider certification. You’ll complete the Online Heartcode PALS course at home and then come to a Code One Training Center for an independent skills verification on the innovative RQI 1Stop® platform. The updated 2020 Heartcode PALS online course is adaptive to the your current level of knowledge. As such, the length of the online course is variable and can take 4 hours or longer for a beginner while an expert can complete in two hours or less. A virtual PALS preparatory course and virtual group PALS megacode review sessions are offered multiple times a week and led by experienced instructors.

After completion of the Heartcode course, you will register for a one hour hands-on skills session at a Code One location. You have two options for your individual skills session: Virtual Instructor-Guided or Self-Guided. Both include performing hands-on skills, including chest compressions and giving breaths via a bag-valve mask on adult and/or infant RQI manikins. The Virtual Instructor-Guided skills sessions utilize a virtually connected BEACON instructor on the TV screen who will guide and support you through your skills session. In Self-Guided skills sessions, you will independently move through skills validation without ongoing assistance from an instructor. A virtual instructor will supervise and remain available for support.
