Provider Training by Code One
Code One offers American Heart Association® Provider training through Self-Guided Learning™ programs, which utilize a combination of adaptive online learning and a self-guided skills session to provide flexible, on-demand CPR training tailored to your individual needs.
The online HeartCode® coursework can be completed at home, on your own time. The course is adaptive and will adjust the pacing to your knowledge level, designed to target gaps in understanding.
CPR skills are tested at one of our 100+ Code One locations, using a CPR Verification Station™ learning center. The equipment offers real-time, objective feedback during your appointment so you leave feeling confident in your abilities.

American Heart Association courses train healthcare professionals and students in critical care settings to provide lifesaving interventions to victims of acute coronary syndromes, stroke, shock, and respiratory emergencies for adults, children, and infants.

What is the Healthcare Provider Bundle?
Code One’s Healthcare Provider Bundle is American Heart Association hybrid training designed for healthcare professionals who desire to learn or refresh their Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) skills. Learners complete a portion of their courses – HeartCode® BLS, ACLS, and PALS – online and then come to our center for an individual skills appointment.
Is the Healthcare Provider Bundle approved by the American Heart Association (AHA)?
Yes. The Healthcare Provider Bundle is a collection of approved American Heart Association courses that result in two year AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS Provider certificates upon successful completion.
When are Healthcare Provider Bundle Skills Appointments offered?
Code One has over 100 locations which offer Healthcare Provider Bundle Skills Sessions by appointment. While the exact hours of operation vary by location, most Code One Training Centers accept appointments Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Do I need to complete the HeartCode® courses before scheduling a Skills Session?
Yes. HeartCode courses must be completed before you schedule the Healthcare Provider Bundle Skills Session to ensure that you have the coursework done and are ready for your session.
What’s the difference between Healthcare Provider Bundle and Healthcare Provider Bundle “Skills Only”?
The Healthcare Provider Bundle includes the required HeartCode® BLS, ACLS, and PALS Online courses plus a Hands-On Skills Verification appointment at Code One. This is the course that most learners require.
Healthcare Provider Bundle Skills Only is ONLY for learners who have already completed the American Heart Association Heartcode BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses and have their certificates dated in the past year. BOTH the Heartcode courses and the skills session are needed to satisfy certification even if you are renewing your certificates.
How long will it take to complete the Healthcare Provider Bundle Complete?
The Healthcare Provider Bundle includes theory (HeartCode® BLS, ACLS and PALS) and skills verification (Bundle Skills).
- The online portion of HeartCode BLS, ACLS, and PALS are adapt pacing to your learning needs. If you find yourself benefiting from a more robust learning process the platform will shift to incorporate more videos, examples and practice opportunities to amplify your competency. On the other hand if you are an experienced healthcare provider, the platform will adjust to focus on knowledge verification. Depending on where you are on the spectrum of competency and confidence, Heartcode BLS can be completed in approximately 1-2 hours and the Heartcode ACLS and PALS courses can be completed in 2-6 hours each.
- On average, the time to complete the hands-on skills session for all three courses is about two hours. Experienced rescuers may complete the skills in less time.
What is the HeartCode® online BLS Course?
HeartCode is the American Heart Association’s blended learning option for BLS, ACLS, and PALS. The Heartcode courses are adaptive and will adjust content based on the prior knowledge of the learner.
Topics include basic life support for adults, children, and infants, acute coronary syndromes, stroke, respiratory management, shock, and cardiac arrest management. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a learner completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, and a hands-on skills session.
In order to meet BLS, ACLS, and PALS Provider certificate requirements, learners are required to complete both the Heartcode courses and the hands-on skills session. The Healthcare Provider Bundle Complete Package includes the Heartcode PALS course and the individual skills appointment at a Code One Training Center.
What does the Self-Guided Skills session look like?
During your hands-on CPR skills session you will independently perform skills on a CPR Verification Station™ learning center which provide real-time feedback to help you master compressions and ventilations for both adults and infants. Our team will remotely supervise and will be available to assist if needed, but you will have your session without ongoing assistance from an instructor.
