Does Code One offer any OSHA level courses?

Many Professionals are required to complete safety training related to their job performance requirements. Some of these safety standards and requirements are developed at the company level, Others are established at the national level by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was established in 1970 and is part of the United States Department of Labor. OSHA was created to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for workers by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance. (1) 

Code One Training Solutions offers two courses that meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements:

Heartsaver First Aid

Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens

Heartsaver First Aid Course

The Heartsaver First Aid Course focuses on identifying emergencies and teaches students how to provide initial life-saving care to a patient to stabilize them until rescuers with more advanced training can arrive and take over care. Proper first aid provided immediately during an emergency can greatly improve a person’s chances of survival and recovery.

The Heartsaver First Aid course teaches students how to identify and provide care for patients experiencing a variety of different emergencies including:

  • Heat and Cold Related Emergencies (Environmental Emergencies)
  • Strokes, Seizures, and Heart Attacks (Medical Emergencies)
  • Broken Bones, Burns, and Shock (Injury Emergencies)

The Heartsaver First Aid Course is available as an Instructor-Led Course, it can also be completed using a Blended-Learning format. In this format, the student will complete the cognitive material online at their own pace, A skills testing appointment with an instructor would then be required to demonstrate the required skills for certification.

Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course

The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course is designed for professionals who have a reasonable chance of being exposed to blood or blood containing materials during the performance of their duties.

The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course teaches students how to protect themselves from Bloodborne Pathogens by using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Students will learn how to properly clean a blood spill and will be taught proper disposal techniques for blood containing materials. Finally, students will learn what steps they need to take if they are exposed to a potential Bloodborne Pathogen.

Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens is offered as an online course.
