If I take a Virtual Instructor Led course, how soon will I get my certification/eCard?

Code One offers Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) courses as an alternative to in-person (Instructor Led) classes and self-paced, online (BEACON) learning. We offer VILT courses for most AHA certifications, with varying frequency.

Virtual Instructor Led Training can be defined as a “Zoom-style” course, because it involves students logging into a meeting website at a set date and time, where a live instructor will be teaching the cognitive portion of the course.

This learning option has several benefits:

  1. Live teacher to answer questions
  2. Take part from the comfort of your own home
  3. Schedule the Skills appointment at your convenience

Like our BEACON classes, the online cognitive component MUST be completed with a skills appointment before an AHA eCard can be issued. Once your VILT class is completed, if you haven’t already, you should schedule your Skills appointment through your Moodle account (https://moodle.code1web.com/login/index.php), or by contacting Customer Support staff at 860-786-1789.

Claiming Your VILT or BEACON eCard:

Once you have completed and passed your Skills appointment, your AHA eCard will be issued. Typically, your eCard will be available at the end of your Skills appointment, or by the end of that day, at the latest.

VILT & BEACON Complete Cards (BLS, ACLS, or PALS)

Once logged into Moodle, you can find your eCard by selecting My Courses and clicking on the blue “Launch” link. The RQI1Stop window that appears will have several circles, one of which says “VIEW ECARD”. Click on “VIEW ECARD”, and from there you can save and print your card.

BEACON Skills Only + All Heartsaver Cards

After your skills appointment you should check your email for a message from the American Heart Association. This email will provide instructions on claiming your eCard from the AHA website.   The link within the email expires after 24 hours, so if you need the link resent, please call us at 860-786-1789.
