Step one: Learn the theory portion of your CPR class online

For most AHA CPR classes in Falls Church, you’ll start by completing the theory portion of the class online through HeartCode. The coursework is adaptive and will adjust the pacing to your knowledge level, targeting any gaps in your understanding.

Step two: Complete your CPR training with a hands-on skills assessment in Falls Church

Once the coursework is done, your CPR skills will be tested at the Falls Church Code One Training Center. The specialized manikins offer real-time, objective feedback during your appointment, so you’ll leave feeling confident in your CPR skills.

Step three: Earn your AHA eCard

If the CPR class you’ve taken is eligible for an AHA course completion eCard, you’ll receive that upon successful completion of the hands-on skills session.

I had a wonderful experience completing my BLS certification at Code One. My new employer informed me just the week before I was scheduled to start that I needed to have this completed, so I was already feeling a little overwhelmed trying to get everything in order. The online portion of the course was very manageable and easy to complete on my own time, which was especially helpful given my circumstances. When it came time for the hands-on portion, I hadn’t taken a BLS course in quite some time, and some of the skills, particularly using the mask and practicing ventilations, were unfamiliar to me. These weren’t things I had really worked on in previous CPR classes, especially in a team setting. I also had some trouble remembering my account information and getting logged in, but Jonathan (I hope I’m remembering his name correctly!) was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout the entire process. He walked me through everything, made sure I understood what I was doing, and never once made me feel uncomfortable or embarrassed about asking questions. At one point, I became so overwhelmed with everything going on that I actually started crying. I was trying to get everything in place for my new job, dealing with the stress of last-minute requirements, and still trying to figure out the logistics of where I was supposed to report for work the following morning. None of that was Jonathan’s responsibility, but he never made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. He was incredibly patient, reassuring, and kind throughout the entire experience. He didn’t rush me or make me feel embarrassed. Instead, he took the time to help me work through everything. I honestly cannot say enough about how much that kindness meant to me that day. The setup was straightforward, the equipment and mannequins provided everything needed to practice, and having someone there to guide you through the process made the experience that much better. It’s not often that you walk away from a required training feeling genuinely grateful for the person who helped you through it, but that’s exactly how I felt. If I need to renew my certification in the future, I would absolutely return to Code One. Thank you, Jonathan, for making what could have been an incredibly stressful experience such a positive one. Your kindness did not go unnoticed, and I hope you know how much of a difference you made. Code One is fortunate to have someone like you!
Amazing experience! Melissa made the process so easy and fun and I would recommend this to everyone!
This was an amazing experience with no crowds, privacy no one watching you just straight to the point best experience ever honestly I can’t complain. Will do this again with Code One
I was struggling with comprehensions at first. However, Melissa guided me through the process, she pointed out what I’m doing well and my areas of improvement. She congratulated me on my good work. I would like to say thank you Melissa for all your help!!!
This was awesome! The online portion was super engaging and informative. The virtual assessment was extremely helpful and approachable! I would definitely recommend this!!
I had an excellent experience completing my BLS, ACLS, and PALS hands-on skills assessments at Code One Baltimore! The entire process was very well organized, efficient, and easy to follow. The interactive system provided clear instructions and immediate feedback throughout the assessment. I especially appreciated the flexibility of the self-guided format and the availability of remote assistance whenever needed. The entire assessment took only about 30 minutes, and I received all three AHA eCards by email within five minutes of successfully completing the session. It was incredibly convenient to complete the hands-on requirements for all three certifications in a single visit. Overall, a smooth, professional, and stress-free experience! Highly recommend Code One Baltimore to healthcare professionals looking for an efficient and reliable way to complete their AHA skills assessments.
I've been using Code 1 for 6 years for my CPR recert and I must say this is the most stress free it has been...self paced cognitive modules and an even smoother hands-on skills session..it's about time something that has to do with recert in EMS be this easy..thank you Code 1
Great trainer! Very helpful and encouraging. Answered my questions, gave good instruction, and feed back.
Process was easy and efficient. The virtual trainers were very attentive and helpful during my session.
Cori was amazing!!! She made me comfortable and taught me new things regarding positioning the patient to obtain a perfect seal with the mask which allows me to provide perfect ventilations. I will definitely do my recertification through Code One again and hope to have Cori again. Thanks Cori!!!
I completed the self paced program. Both the online and practical exercises were clear. I received my credentials right after my practice assessment was done. I also called the customer service for some instructions for accessing their practical exercise room. They were very polite and helpful. Best experience ever. I have come across some scammers, so be careful before payment.
Omg I loved this experience so much! Initially I was nervous about doing the training because I thought people would be in the room watching my every move. I loved that it was at my own pace in a suite by myself. I had so much fun doing this! 10/10 recommended!
This was by far the best CPR training experience. The book portion was online and self paced and it’s a sim lab with live feedback. In and out in less than 30 and I actually feel like I got solid feedback on skills. 10/10 if you have a busy schedule and need a CPR certification.
I’ll never do another CPR certification other than these guys. You do the work on your own time and then a practical exam is one on one. I work in the health care industry and this is so important ….. thank you for this service!!!!!
I would highly recommend this spot to get whatever you need, I got ACLS and PALS and the process was very easy and quick. You do the modules online (self-paced) and the skills appointment in-person was less than 15 minutes and I would highly recommend the online-coach option for the skills portion. Definitely the way to go if you need BLS,ACLS,PALS.
Melissa was just the best guide I could have hoped for. She is patient and gives clear instructions. I could not have had a better experience. Thank you.
Code one thank you for the excellent experience! The virtual trainers are very knowledgeable and helpful if you are struggling they coach you through it. Online portion is very streamlined as well as the skills session. Worth the price 100%
I asked and received support and assistance on my skill section Adult 2 person rescue after several attempts at being unable to pass. I found the manikin difficult to apply enough pressure on compressions to be sufficient despite pushing hard. I’ve been a Nurse since 1981 and never failed a hands on skill session in person in my career or with Code one for the past 2 renewals. The manikin is beyond stiff!! It might help to get a backboard to stabilize the back of the manikins spine as I had to literally compress that hard to make a enough “points to pass” with repeated exhaustion. I am beyond grateful for Dr.Sanita who was called in to help me hone down on my compressions. I let her know I was not leaving today until I passed. She was so kind ,supportive and very patient with me. She made me achieve my goal!
I was able to obtain exactly the training I needed VERY quickly. I wasn’t told what I would need for a volunteer, assistant coaching position until it was very late. By the time I was informed, I was going to be traveling for the weekend. Amazingly, I was able to find an office to complete the in-person portion of the training 6 hours away from home! I also had an issue with the class I signed up for; when I reached out at 8pm, I received a response and a fix within minutes and they even secured me the time slot I had available for the in-person training. I had felt desperate and overwhelmed, but Code One made everything work out for me very fast! Would absolutely recommend to anyone needing AHA training, fast!
The virtual trainers are very kind and helpful if you are struggling with the in person training. Online portion is very streamlined as well as the skills session. Worth the price 100%
Mi primera vez haciendo mi BLS con ellos y me encantó súper amables y atentos la verdad volvería otra vez porque fue una experiencia maravillosa.
Mannequins were responsive, and virtual feedback was helpful! Convenient & quick online course & hands-on lesson. Highly recommend the hybrid program!
I really appreciate all of the support, tips, advice, encouragement, and guidance that I received while completing my training! It has been a while since I’ve completed a bls training and I was grateful and liked how everything was organized, strutured, and set up with the process of the online training all the way up to the hands on training.
I liked that they came on to help me when I was struggling with how to give manakins breath. Super quick to pass tests with the help. I had taken a class elsewhere in past and there was no help and it took all day to finally pass the class.
I had a great experience with the in person cpr training! The computer instructions were easy to follow and the manikins were easy to use. When I had difficulty with the adult ventilation portion, I requested assistance and the woman who helped me was wonderful! She did not make me feel bad for having difficulty and encouraged me to try many different positions for me to accurately provide breaths. I enjoy self-guided training, which took less than 1 hour, much more than group classes that could take 3+ hours!
