I recently took 2 different training classes at Code One in Woodbridge. The facility was clean. The presenters were very good. I highly recommend this training center.

The new haven/Woodbridge location was fabulous. Kevin was exceptionally friendly and overall extremely knowledgeable and helpful! I will definitely be returning to the Wednesday night class when my BLS is up!

Code One + Pro EMS Center for Medics

Code One has partnered with Pro EMS Center for Medics to deliver PRODIGY – a world class virtual training platform for all levels of EMS providers.

Prodigy classes are designed to educate and engage, not simply to check the box. Instead of using a stale PowerPoint presentation, we engage our users by implementing a multi-camera format that focuses on the presenter, who is always an experienced EMS educator. In addition, we supplement this with materials designed to enhance learning.

Course Description

Nationally Registered Paramedics are required to renew their certification every two years.  The Paramedic National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) establishes the continuing education standard used for recertification. The NCCP model requires continuing education in three components – a national component, a local/state component, and an individual component.

Continuing education must be approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) or by the state EMS office.

National Component (30 Hours)

National component topics include airway and respiration, cardiovascular, trauma, medical, and EMS operations.

Local / State Component (15 Hours)

These hours are flexible unless your state EMS office or local medical control has specific requirements.

Individual Component (15 Hours)

These are flexible hours that may be achieved through any CAPCE approved educational component.

Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)

The NCCP program limits topics delivered by Online Distributive Continuing Education (pre-recorded training) to 35 hours.

Our online NCCP Paramedic Refresher provides an assortment of CAPCE Category F5 Virtual Instructor Led Training with six live courses offered five days per week.  Session topics are rotated to ensure that content is available to meet needed NCCP topic areas.

Content Library

With a full library of EMS continuing education content, Prodigy provides Departments with access to a growing variety of course offerings. These courses are designed not only for recertification, but for all areas of training. Our courses are ideal for new employee onboarding, annual training, and remediation. Organizations can also add their own training classes. These can then be tracked like any other course on Prodigy and even be taught in a live virtual classroom.

Prodigy offers courses as either Virtual Instructor-Led Training (CAPCE F5; “Live Webinar”) or Distributive (CAPCE F3; “On-Demand.”) Live Webinar classes are scheduled throughout the year, with increasing frequency as recertification deadlines approach. All credit-bearing courses offered on Prodigy are approved by CAPCE (the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education.) CAPCE is recognized nationally as the accrediting organization for EMS continuing education. CAPCE-approved classes can be used for NREMT (national) recertification in addition to most state certification requirements.
