How long is ServSafe Manager certification good for?

The National Restaurant Association recognizes the ServSafe Manager Certification for five years.

ServSafe Allergen, Alcohol and Food Handler Certifications are recognized for three years.

State, local or employer requirements may vary so it is a good idea to check with these organizations about how frequently you need to renew your certifications. Some local laws may also require a certain number of training hours in addition to passing the ServSafe exam. For example, South Carolina DHEC requires at least one employee with management responsibilities be a certified food protection manager.

The Servsafe Manager exam is between 80-90 questions with a passing score of at least 75 percent to obtain ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification. Online exams must be given through an official ServSafe Proctor and results will be available immediately.

At Code One Training Solutions, you may either choose the test only option or take a day long class with the test at the end. Our instructors are Certified ServSafe Instructors and Proctors with many years of experience in the food industry.

The class is a good idea for those that have not taken the test before or that do not want the burden of independent study. Once you have passed the course, the certificate is easily accessed by signing into the ServSafe website. You may check the date of your upcoming renewal, print or download a pdf of your certificate, check your scores or read articles about current food safety concerns.
