Where can I download the AHA Algorithms?

The American Heart Association (AHA) develops evidence-based guidelines that are used by healthcare providers for resuscitation of patients of all ages. The guidelines include algorithms which provide a systematic approach to the resuscitation process giving providers a consistent tool to use for each patient.

Generally learners receive a copy of the laminated algorithm cards in their AHA student workbooks for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). These guides are also included in the course eBooks that are part of the AHA’s Heartcode courses.

Sometimes providers need to review a copy of the algorithms when they don’t have access to their workbooks, cards, or Heartcode courses. For this reason, the AHA includes a PDF version of the algorithms which can be viewed, downloaded, and printed from their website.
